The goal of this course is to provide participants with a good fundamental understanding of derivative securities. These securities include forward futures, options, swaps, and structured products. Emphases will be placed on three aspects of derivatives. the nature of their payoffs, how they are priced, and how they can be used for hedging and speculative purposes. A practical approach using Bloomberg Terminal to observe and analyse derivatives would impart the young practitioner's practical understanding of derivatives trading and pricing.
To equip participants to analyse derivatives trading and pricing using the Bloomberg interface and understand the basic terminology of the derivatives market. It would especially help the participants who are interested in trading and portfolio management using derivatives as a tool for hedging.
